It sounds very much like Brad on drums. Same reggae influences, the rolls - even the sound of the kit. I wondered if it was him moonlighting?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj9c9UqNILQ Live version on 'Look Hear'.
The drums on the live version are completely different, and I know they had a bit of a floating line-up (or 'swinging'). I may be wrong but if the recorded version isn't Brad, then it's someone doing a good imitation. |

I think if it was Brad on drums then the cat (every pun intended) would have been out of the bag by after all these years.
Going by standard 2 Tone practice The Swinging Cats should have recorded three tracks during the sessions which would have resulted in the Mantovani\Away single. I wonder does this third track exist? _________________ Richard Eddington is innocent.

I enjoyed them on the More Specials tour. They were second on the bill after Team 23, who were probably good but I remember the crowd not warming to them. |

I wonder if that makes Brad the person who has featured on the most two tone releases?
With him being on 'The Selecter' JBs Allstars and The Special AKAs singles along with the original Specials, with this it surely must? _________________ Bernie Rhodes Knows - Dont Argue |

So it was Brad 'playing away', so to speak!
And I always thought that was his snare drum sound but again I thought it was someone imitating him.
Who played on Away then, I wonder? Billy Gough?

Yes, definitely one for Norris McWhirter. |

I couldn't be arsed counting the total number of tracks but at a guexs Brad would have played on the most 2 Tone tracks (I think). Rico and Dick Cuthell would have quite a few under their belt's as well.
How Brad and The Swinging Cats has been kept under wraps until now is anyone's guess, although since it was so heavily panned at the time and was the first 2Tone single to miss the charts I can't blame him for not bragging about it. _________________ Richard Eddington is innocent.
