Post subject: Slow Ticket Sales? Reply with quote

I was just wondering if anyone else is as shocked as I am that the smaller gigs(Wolves & Manchester) still haven't sold out yet,I thought that the others might hang around a bit but I was convinced these would go instantly.
I really hope for the bands sake that the interest is still there from the wider gig going public.

I doubt(just my opinion) that some people would purchase tickets for an event nearly a year away, also there was a massive buzz when the first tour was announced as they had not played together for so long and most people had given up hope that they would ever tour again.I expect it to be more chaotic nearer the gigs.
And there is always the Christmas factor.

Too true Ally - I will, for example, be going to 5 - 6 gigs but I have only brought tickets for Ally Pally.

I am that confident I can get tickets when the time comes that I'm in no rush - as long as I get in there before the rest of the likeminded people i'll get sorted.

Dangerous policy I agree but there you go.

I know what you're saying about buying so far in advance but the way I always look at it is if I pay now or later it will still cost the same and I might be in a worse financial position when it comes around so better safe than sorry.

Yeah Nick i agree but i was posting about people who like the Specials but are not MASSIVE fans or major gig goers who might be put off with buying tickets 11months in advance,no so much about the money.

I agree that the timing of the sales is likely to be a factor - both in terms of how far in advance they are on sale and also the closeness to Christmas.

I've got tickets for a couple of gigs, but I may well get more nearer the time

The other venues were smaller? I know Terminal 5 was a tiny cave!
Here, for me to book travel and subs for work - just can't be approached a year off.....fingers nervously crossed on my part Confused

They'll all be gone by February/March.

Id like to know the total capacity of the last tour compared to next year. Two thirds of next years ticket sales may have sold out last years tour.

I think, given the time of year and the current economic climate, that that is a fantastic achievement.

Very Happy if you do pretty sure a few of the eBayers would sell you tickets if a suitable offer was made!
