I love Hoz's art, its amazing some of his stuff on the website, really good concepts. I am really fond of the robots at the beach.

Horace is the coolest of bassists and for some reason the bass playing on Nite Klub just grabs me every time. Very talented indeed Cool

Both of your posts above are spot on Caragh! - I think the vibe of those 3x in the interview has something different going on - they are very together.

I feel the same about Horaces bass -Nite Club- is hypnotic. We both read back on threads - and It is a great compliment to each way the administrators set a pace for this Forum.

Somewhere on U.Tube there is a set of vids - demonstrating the bass part of each Specials song. When you hear the line singled out - and then added in as Horaces part! Wow! (It's a teache/demonstrating to students!)

He always sounds great and plays the best! nice suit Horace Cool
P.S. the video with M.I.A. "It takes a muscle" - there's that bass again - watching Horace almost conduct her musicians (and her) is very cool.

I had the pleasure of giving Horace directions to view Francis Bacons Work Studio, which had been re-created at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin. He certainly loves his art. It gave me a buzz that - within seconds of being introduced to a fat skinhead with a hangover - Horace asked if I was into art and if I happened to know where the gallery was. No pre-conceived ideas in his head about Specials fans. Very Happy

Quote:

"Although Horace is better known as the bassist in one of Britain's most iconic bands, The Specials, he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Fine Art from Coventry's Lanchester Polytechnic (now Coventry University). Most of his career has been defined by music, but art has always been in the frame, so to speak! When The Specials reformed in 2008, thus ending a 10 year stint as the Head of Art at a local secondary school, he found he had a lot more time to concentrate on his own art practice. In November 2011, Horace had his first art exhibition at The Strand Gallery in London and his art is now available in various galleries throughout the UK as well as Singapore"
