Again Robbo you have opened your stupid mouth.
Does us all a favour and save your stupid comments, and stop pretending your something special on this forum.
In my opinion (which if you would like) i would say to your face, Pete Chambers does more in one day than you have ever done to promote the name of 2-Tone.
Pete carry on the good work mate , i for one will always support you and the project as much as i can.
Nipper is a fully paid up member of the VIP Club, do i feel elitist? No i feel i have in a very small way contributed to something i feel very passionate about.
Rant over !!!! |

I paid my £25.00 & I'm happy to do it, I think it's an ambitious task that is destined to take more and more of the trustees time as time goes on.
You all have my respect for doing this and I'll be at the VIP event not being a VIP but being proud that my £25.00 helped in a very, very small way to making it happen. |

I'd be happy to pay the 25, but you'll still find me in the steerage section. _________________ There's still nothing wrong with it! |

Pete Chambers and all us trustees and partners have devoted a lot of time around already busy lives to ensure this happens. Its been long hard nights of work, mental & physical to get to where we are now, its been sleepless nights. Theres no ego trips, just solid hard work to make this happen because the 2Tone label deserves it and Coventry deserves it. Its for you, the fan, the supporter, to visit. no one gets anything from this only the satisafction of seeing it up and running. Its a non profit organisation with money raised going back into the museum and to the charities mentioned by Pete.
Its a very exciting project to be involved with- a pinnacle for me in fact- and something I am overtly proud of being associated with.
I assume all of us on here are 2Tone fans, so lets get behind the museum project, back it to the hilt.
and thank you all for making this label, The Specials and its associates well and truly on the musical map once more with your VIP memberships but any way in which anyone can support the museum is just as welcomed. _________________ ANGER IS AN ENERGY

It's great n it - the trustees do all the work, all we have to do is turn up and have fun.
It's strange how when people do things for nothing they can still get battered for it. it's medals not digs the trustees deserve |

I read and re-read this thread yesterday and TBH I can't work out where all the negative vibes are coming from.
Two Tone Central is clearly a labour of love for all involved, all of whom appear to be deeply passionate and caring for whole project.
These things don't pay for themselves, so the VIP thing is simply a way of generating revenue. It's not unusual or uncommon for this type of membership to exist in ensuring that funds continue to flow. Every museum in the world has a scheme of this sort set up to help support it, but also to enable people to play a part, feel a part, be a part of something they care about and want to engage with. It's not really a two tier system, simply a way for people to be more involved through direct donation - for which they are recognised.
£25 is a bit of bargain really.
I'll be honest and admit I haven't got VIP membership, and that decision was taken because I don't know if I'll ever get to Coventry to see it , but I've decided that I will sign up because I've had a fucking ball in the past 3 - 4 years re-discovering the whole live ska scene and all those involved with it and if the museum offers up opportunity for old and new ska fans to get a feel for the brief, but exciting, phenomena that was Two-Tone and keep that scene alive and kicking then it's worth £25 quid of my cash.
Well done to all involved, and I might even get to see it one day of Tom gives me a lift up! |

To be fair, Stevo, if you put a lot of time and effort and passion in to creating something it's hard to hear things said against it, even if they are in jest.
...but people will always have an opinion, and sometimes it better to just rise above it and ignore it.
Concentrating on those that want to be positive is a better way to go. |
