A new book by Richard Weight has been published (Vinatge books, £25). There's a 2 Tone Chapter that features photos of The Selecter, fans of The Specials at a 2 tone concert etc
There's quite a lot of quotes from both Jerry and Horace.
I only skimmed through it but it looks like a good read

Hmm... I just read those harsh reviews.
Yes it's true, The Beat's record label wasn't called Go Discs. (That's not as bad as the mistakes in Nev's autobiography such as saying Rico was a sax player.)
And yes, I never thought of Billy Bragg as a mod (although I first became aware of him during the Red Wedge years and he was always pictured standing next to Mods such as Paul Weller. I also think the author is pushing it when he says Glam is a part of Mod. Slade went from from being a skinhead band to glam and most of the glam acts were working class boys who knew that attention to detail was everything (but yes, that's not quite the same as being a mod)
And yes, Keith Moon who a target T-shirt and The Who says themselves as being a Pop Art band who certainly knew about Peter Blake's The First Real Target painting. But it's difficult to know if Keith Moon ever really thought that the t-shirt was a statement on the fact he didn't have to do National Service (which is apparently what the book implies)
Anyway the Amazon reviews saying that it's the worst book ever are a bit over the top. The chapter I skimmed over on The Clash/Rock Against Racism and 2-Tone was fine and dandy and full of food for thought.
